Craft page a month

I have spent most of this month knitting and crocheting bunnie rabbits for The Cupcake Cafe in town, I have made about 20 in all. Here are a few pictures.

This is a keyring fob for me, with wool sent by my friend Donna in Canada

Just a little tryout of an amigurami rabbit

Now these basket of Bunnies I really do like, I am rather proud of them and shall be taking them in to the Cafe to be used for a charity fundraising event
I shall also be taking these knitted ones, so simple to do , made with a knitted square, but it is in the sewing up that you get the shape of these rabbits, see how much they like my Cos lettuce munch munch.

It was also Birthday month and as it was a friend of ours Birthday I knitted him a pair of fingerless cabled gloves, which he asked for.Modelled in this pic by Gary, my hand model.

Here they are my cabled knitted fingerless gloves, a new skill still in use that I learned from Ravelry.
Along with these knitted and crocheted items I hvae made cushions etc, but I am saving that for a reveal!!!!!!bet you cnnot wait, gorgeous I tell you gorgeous, Prepare yourselves.

Holiday in Chester.

We couldnt have asked for better weather, it was 22 degrees on some days, we sat by the river for hours enjoying the scene. But first of all lets start with the hotel. It was called The mill hotel and spa, and it spanned two sides of the Shropshire Union Canal.
The canal boat belongs to the hotel and does wining and dining, casino tours, afternoon tea, its very popular.
The clock erected to celebrate Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee

Chester Cathedral

A very busy and hot shopping centre taken from the clock tower town walls

The famous Blue Moon pub and restaurant and me and a cafe latte'

Inside the 1950s era of The Blue Moon
From the 1960s this great print of The Beatles

Gary enjoying himself sitting by the river by the Blue moon , we both had Cafe Lattes and soaked up the sunshine and watched the World and the Boats glide by, the gulls were screaming overhead, so picturesque by the waters of the River Dee.

This beautiful bridge apanning the river dee, too good not to take a photo of, as Mr Stanyer did, because he loved the view, nice photo Gaz.

Great enteretainment watching the actors giving the children History in real time as roman centurions, the re enactment was funny as well as historical.
Another centurion inspiring these children to join the roman legion.
The next few photos are of our room , just because it was so lovely and worth every penny for this luxurious treat.,

It was the most lovely room
In the hotel was a spa, beauty treatments a pool a Jacuzzi and an excerscise gym. We used the pool and the Jacuzzi, very good for me as I dont like water but Gary gave me the confidence to take my feet off the bottom of the pool, and I enjoyed it.

No not me, but the pool is lovely
Now for the best Pub ever , recommended by Dan who had been there and gave us instructions where to find it, we couldn't have found a more scenic pub, with the most marvellous views over the river Dee, good ale, and outside decking to sit on with beach huts.

All the photos above are taken either outside or from the picture window inside The Boathouse Pub alongside The river dee.

These last four photos are of The Grosvenor Park, look at the lovely flowers out in the spring sunshine.

Goodbye to the lovely Mill Hotel, this was taken on our last night in Chester, What a lovely well needed break, we had the weather on our side,m the food and  drink was wonderful, and a bit of posh was much deserved.

Springtime in the Park

It was a nice sunny and warm afternoon for this early in spring, being on my own for a long afternoon, I decided to do something with it and went to Town and into the Park to capture the loveliness of Springtime in the park.
The Town Park was opened in 1908, there is a plaque on one of the white bridges commemorating the event. Originally Victoria Park as we know it, was called Victoria Park Pleasure grounds. Here are a few lovely Pictures for you to share with me.

The bedding layout is similar in all town parks following on the trend from Victorian parks.

This is the lovely Conservatory, housing hundreds of plants , some exotic, that need warmth and light, it is so peaceful to wonder amongst the plants and marvel at the fantastic colours.
Just look at the vibrant red in this photo, makes your heart sing

Inside the conservatory the decking holds lots of pots of different flowering plants all year round, a lot of people don't go to the park, but it is well worth a visit to see all this beauty.
The pretty tinkling sound of water, the fish are hiding from the camera.

Meanwhilke out in the spring sunshine overlooking the bowling green stands this fine statue of W G Grace, overlooking the bowling green.
A rest watching the bowling is nice on a sunny afternoon in summer, ice cream and tea nearby.

One of the lovely White bridges that adorn the river Sow, so graceful, lots of people do sit here and bring their children to feed the ducks, or do so on their own, these ducks were having a leisurely rest by the water.
This shelter is dedicated to Alderman Mottram.

Our Bandstand in the park, often used by brass bands in the summer, but in my view vastly underused, it could be used for local bands / groups, plays, local art exhibitors from the college. Wouldnt it be nice if the park was patrolled for safety so visitors could come and enjoy it, but also for much more fun and entertainment. Why is it not used for more recreational activities, especially on a sunday, we could have art for sale from local art groups,  bedecking the railings, craft stalls once a month, we need to use this beautiful Park, for everyone to relax and feel safe in. That was its original purpose after all.
Just look at the blossom on these trees, it was starting to blow from the tree a little as I took the photo.
This splendid Magnolia just about to burst into full bloom was enchanting with its pink and white waxy flowers, how pretty it looks, with the sky as its backdrop, I took the photo looking upwards through the branches.

This is the final view, the island in the centre will be full of life and greenery by summer, from this view you can see clear across this duck pond to the glass house and then in the distance the Church of St Marys. I hope if you look at this you enjoy our town parks views, and go and enjoy it yourselves.

Now mom won't often pose for me, but I caught her in smiley mood ready for a photo for my blog post.

Polyanthus in glorious technicolour

Now if only mum and I could have taken these two gorgeous deer home, it would have made our day, we thought they were really lovely, just like in the film Bambi.
Next it was off to get Mickey moms cat some fancy food, and mom put some money towards a tree for me for Mothers Day and I got a lovely Bramley Apple Tree to plant in our garden, so I was very pleased with that. I  shall always look at it and think My Mum bought me that and so it will be really special. My Ma's Tree.

Next it was back into the car and off to see Jenny, my daughter, and Owen her son, my grandson and to mom both nan and Great nan.
