Another Wedding

Another wedding we were invited to belonged to Jenny and Andy, now Mr &Mrs.....it took place at Rodbaston hall.

What a lovely place to get married, the weather was beautiful , the sun shone all day and in the golden evening light we were all able to enjoy time in the gardens with a drink.

The driveway was well lit and my friend and I took a walk down to the lake and around the rose arbour.

On the way there, we encountered this little feature in the gardens, a mound of earth with a nose , we got up close and saw this..
A lifelike earth figure, his eyes were made of broken tile , and with grass for hair eerie in the light.

This photograph of Jenny and andy was taken in the grounds, at the evening reception, with guests.
Now for some actual wedding photographs

Here are the newly weds, at the wedding table, pic above, and lower pic with Andys Aunty.

This last photo is from a distance as I couldnt get close as you can see from the crush of people taking photos of their first dance, I had to stand on a chair.!

It was so nice to be invited, the usual rabble was there including these two

Dont they look nice, this photo was taken in our garden before they went to the wedding itself...martin and laura.
Sharon and I at the wedding reception , evening.

Those of us who went at night were sharon and john, greg, daz, Mr jeffs, me and gaz, and it was so nice to be invited, to see andy change from teenager to a lovely young man and get married to Jenny.
Congratulations and I hope every blessing and happiness comes to them .. chink your teacup or whatevers your tipple and raise a toast to Andy and Jenny, long and lasting married life full of joy.

September 1st

September, Season of mists and mellow fruitfullness as the poem by Louis Macneice says in his Autumn Journal, one of my favourite poems. So to start off this lovely golden glow day we had a journey out to Barlaston canal to visit THE WOOL BOAT.

The Boat travels up and down the waterways during March to October, then moors up at Burscough on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in winter.

It was a perfect warm and still morning to visit, the owners were very friendly, there was wool for sale, buttons, haberdashery, knitting kneedles, all sold from a small space, displayed in baskets.

This isCarole who with her partner Colin runs the Boat, and this is some of her stock on board the Emma Maye, I asked if I could take a photo, and then he said he would take one of us for me to send to my friend Donna in Canada.

Here we are, me with my bag of white wool and two packs of multicoloured buttons. Note the pretty crochet cover on the chair. Gary enjoyed it too as he found that Colin the owner was a football supporter like himself and they spent the time talking footy. So Happy Days all around.
We stopped for a cup of tea at Aston Marina on the way back, and watched the Swifts darting low over the Marina, A LOVELY HAPPY MORNING.
