A Grand Day Out...M O D Open day

RAF Hospital Air Ambulance

It really was a grand day out at The MODs open day at Stafford. Lots to see and do. My friend and I walked up to the base with picnics each of us and picnic blanket . Desperately needed a cup of tea the minute we got there. Watched the planes circling overhead looping the loop Brilliant such skill. Then it was off to look around, we bought mobile phone covers in aid of The Hospice. I purchased a raffle ticket too in the hope of winning a marvellous knitted Afghan throw. Also three books for the princely sume of £1 !!!!
Then we sat and picnicked and talked and enjoyed ourselves. Later meeting up with family and grandchild of mine. Nice to see so many people had turned up to watch. I took owen for an ice cream, then held him up as it was time for the falcon parachute display team, we watched a spectacular display, and jenny  recorded a great video which i will add at the end of this blog. The formation team were brilliant , how they came down in such a stack, and land on their feet from such a height is stunning to watch. The dancing jcb diggers were again marvelous to watch. Lots of applause for the team. What a great event, we enjoyed the event last year, again but even better this year, as my friend and i said, like wallace and gromit It was a grand day out.
